Oil prices fall as COVID-19 infections surge, US debate looms

Oil prices today fell as Europe and the United States grappled with a surge in new coronavirus infections and investors were cautious ahead of the first U.S. presidential debate.

In intra-day trade, Brent crude prices were trading around 42 dollars and 20 cents per barrel while WTI crude prices were around 40 dollars and 30 cents per barrel.
