Oil prices eases as traders watched for progress to rise on U.S. debt ceiling

Oil prices eased today as traders warily watched for signs of progress on talks to raise the U.S. debt ceiling. Prices had surged in the previous session on optimism over U.S. fuel demand.
 
In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading at 72 dollars and 66 cents a barrel. West Texas Intermediate crude price was at 76 dollars and 77 cents
