Official poster of 42nd IFFI launched at Panaji

The official poster of the 42nd International Film Festival of India has been formally launched at Panaji, Goa on Monday.

Portraying two dancing peacocks, the poster has been designed by a renowned Art Director, Padamshree Thota Tharani.

Informing the media, Director, IFFI, Shankar Mohan said the dancing peacocks are rightly displaying the mood of celebrations which would start with the launch of the festival on Nov. 23rd.

AIR Correspondent reports that this is the first time in as many years that a formal poster has been designed for the festival to give a separate identity to IFFI’s logo which is an important element of the whole show.

Meanwhile, Shankar Mohan disclosed that to provide separate infrastructure and to be at par with the international standards of organizing such film festival, the festival has been de-linked from Directorate of Film Festivals from now on.

A separate expert committee supported by a dedicated team would now work exclusively to organize the event every year.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Entertainment Society of Goa, Manoj Srivastava said that Goa has been benefited in several ways because of IFFI as the volume of business here has increased many fold.

The event is being organized by the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in close cooperation with Govt. of Goa.
