An all party meeting was convened on Wednesday at Ranchi under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Arjun Munda to discuss giving official language status to Bangla and Santhali. All major political parties operating in Jharkhand took part.According to the newly published census report, Santhali and Bangla are two major languages spoken after Hindi in the state. Hindi is the first official language of the state, while Urdu enjoys the second official language on the pattern of Bihar.
