OECD lauds India for crisis handling

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has lauded India for its handling of the global economic and financial crisis. The Paris-based club of the leading industrialised nations, OECD, said in its half-yearly economic outlook published in Berlin that India's economy will achieve the second best growth after China in the coming years. It said the Indian economy has weathered the global economic downturn relatively well. <br/>The OECD forecasts the economy to grow more than 7 per cent next year. However, it warned that inflation has been rising since mid-2009 and it is expected to remain high over the projection period.<br/> <br/>
