Odisha clinched the boy's hockey gold and Haryana bagged the girls' title in the Khelo India School Games in New Delhi on Thursday. In the summit clash, while Odisha recorded a 2-1 victory over Punjab, Haryana overcame Jharkhand by the same margin. The Odisha boys, who had beaten Punjab 3-0 in the league stage, once again dominated the final match, proving that their previous victory over their rivals was no fluke. Chandigarh boys won the bronze after beating Uttar Pradesh 5-1.Earlier in the morning, Haryana pip Jharkhand 2-1 in the girls' hockey final. It was Jharkhand, who struck first and led 1-0 at half time, but the Haryana girls struck back later, scoring twice in the second half. Punjab won the bronze after beating Chandigarh 5-4.In archery, Haryana grabbed the lions share of medals on the final day of competition. Overall, Haryana emerged with the best haul of five medals, including one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. In judo, Haryana added two more gold medals on the final day to push their total tally from the sport to 12, including five gold, one silver and six bronze medals to completely dominate the mat. Two of the four gold medals on offer on the last day went to Delhi and Maharashtra. In basketball, Punjab and Kerala won the boys' and girls' gold medals.
