In Odisha, the death toll in the hooch tragedy has increased to 35. More than 110 people who fell ill following drinking of spurious liquor has been admitted into the SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack, while many more are being treated at different private hospitals in Bhubaneswar. Some of them are reported to be very critical, while many patients have complained of poor vision. Meanwhile, the police and excise department officials have been raiding different liquor manufacturing units, shops and medicine establishments all over the state. A large number of Epeecarm and Cinamon medicine bottles that were reported to have added with deadly liquor mixture by the victims and ill persons have been seized during the raids.Opposition Congress and BJP have been demanding resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik taking moral responsibility for the hooch tragedy.
