In Odisha, at least 56 persons have reportedly died so fare due to sunstroke even as severe heat wave conditions continue to affect the entire State, throwing life out of gear. However, the state's disaster management department has confirmed only nine deaths due to sunstroke.Towns like Sambalpur and Titlagarh recorded a maximum of 45.5 degree Celsius, followed by Bolangri with 45.3 degree Celsius. The Bhubaneswar Met office has predicted that the heatwave conditions would prevail for next 48 hours in interior Odisha.Due to continued heat wave conditions, the people of Odisha, particularly in the interior areas covering western parts of the state, are experiencing harrowing times with the situation being more precipitated by frequent undeclared power cuts and scarcity of drinking water.
