Odisha govt renews appeal to Maoists for MLA release

In Odisha, as the Biju Janata Dal MLA Jhina Hikaka continues to be in the captivity of maoists, the Odisha Government has once again appealed to the Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of the CPI (Maoist) to release him immediately, unhurt and in good health.

Meanwhile, the Odisha Home Secretary Upendra Nath Behera told AIR at Bhubaneswar that there was no information about the 'People’s Court'.

He said the state government was not aware of the 'People's Court' and he had heard about it only from the media. He said the government had already announced withdrawing prosecution against 13 persons lodged in different jails of Odisha and hoped that the announcement has reached the Maoists.
