Odisha govt plans to vaccinate two lakh citizens against covid-19 per day

Odisha Government is planning to vaccinate two lakh eligible citizens against covid-19 per day. AIR correspondent reports that, the state health department has issued district-wise break-up to the district collectors and municipal commissioners to meet the target, which earlier was one lakh vaccination per day.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The upward revision of the targeted number beneficiaries comes in the wake of the center allowing people of 45 years of age and above to get vaccinated from tomorrow onwards. The state health department has also prioritized high risk groups among citizens of 45 years of age and above like street vendors, auto and bus drivers, school and college teachers,salon and barber shops employees and servitors/priests of religious institutions. Meanwhile, the state has already delivered more than 22 lakh vaccine doses to different categories of beneficiaries, of whom, about 13.5 lakh are senior citizens. As for the virus, it has been spiralling beyond 200 new cases daily for the last one week, thereby pushing the states active caseload upwards to 1,837, as of now.</span><br />
