The Odisha government is hopeful that Maoists will set free BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka today. The state government has promised to consider dropping charges against some prisoners if the MLA is released by this evening.

However, Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of CPI (Maoist) is adamant that in exchange all the 29 ultras should be released. The Maoists have given a deadline to meet their demand by 5 this evening.
