The Odisha government on Wednesday filed a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court challenging the judgement of Odisha High Court direction on acquisition of land for the proposed Vedanta University at Puri-Konark marine drive. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister of Odisha, Surya Narayan Pato, disclosed this in the Odisha Legislative Assembly. The Odisha High Court in its judgement on 16th November last had quashed the land acquisition process for the proposed university and declared it as 'legally malafide'.
