Odisha govt felicitates Olympians from state

The Odisha government yesterday felicitated the Olympians from the state. At a special function in capital Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik handed over cash award of 2.5 crore rupees and also offer letters for appointments as Deputy Superintendent of Police to Birendra Lakra and Amit Rohidas ' the two Odias in the men's hockey team who brought Olympian laurel for the country in hockey after 41 years.<br />''<br />''The Chief Minister also honoured Deep Grace Ekka and Namita Toppo ' the two Odias in the Indian women hockey team, who created history by dribbling into the semi finals in Tokyo Olympics with cash rewards of 50 lakh rupees each.<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Odisha government has been at the forefront of promoting hockey for quite some time now.</span><br />
