The Odisha government is examining the demands of maoists to ensure the release of abducted MLA Jhinna Hikaka. The maoists who claimed to have taken Hikaka as hostage, have not responded to the invitation of the government for talks. State Home Secretary U N Behera said that the government is also aware of release of the audio by maoists for seeking fulfillment of their demands in exchange of the release of the second Italian. The first Italian had been released by the maoists earlier. The audio release seeks to treat the Odisha Maoist outfit as a separate organisation and allow it to function in a democratic way.
