Odisha govt declares four more districts as drought-hit

The Odisha government on Thursday declared four more districts as drought-hit. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister of Odisha, Bijayshree Routray. told media persons at Bhubanesawr that the State government has added Bolangir, Nuapada, Jharsuguda and Bargarh districts in the category of drought-hit districts.<br/><br/>He said, the drought package announced by Chief Minister Naveen Minister will be implemented very soon.<br/><br/>Sixteen blocks of these four districts have been affected by drought. The State government had declared 12 districts as drought-hit due to deficient rainfall.<br/><br/>After the inclusion of four districts in the category, a total of 123 blocks of 16 districts have been affected by drought.<br/><br/>The other 12 districts which have been affected are Balasore, Boudh, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Puri and Sonepur.
