The Odisha Government has agreed to consider and take necessary steps to meet eight of the 14 demands put forward by the Maoists for release of Malkangiri district magistrate and collector R Vineel Krishna and junior engineer Pabitra Mohan Majhi.Addressing a press conference in Bhubaneshwar on Monday evening, Odisha Home Secretary UN Behera said, rest of the six demands will be taken up in the final round of discussion between the State Government and negotiators to be held on Monday. The mediators, Prof Haragopal, Prof R Someswar Rao and Dandapani Mohanty have assured the Odisha Government that the health condition of Krishna and Majhi is good. Mr. Behera said, the State Government has expressed confidence that the Malkangiri collector and junior engineer will be released soon.
