<span style="color: #222222;">The Odisha government has decided to import vaccines for covid-19. A proposal to this effect was approved by the state cabinet in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in capital Bhubaneswar yesterday. Accordingly, the government will float a global tender soon to procure covid-19 vaccines from major National and international firms.<br />''<br />''Making a reference to the fast- normalisation of covid-19 situation in countries like Israel, achieved through vaccination of a majority of their citizens, the state cabinet underscored the efficacy of vaccines in the fight against covid-19. In this light, the cabinet decided to float global tender to ensure vaccine availability to all its people. Meanwhile the state has vaccinated a total of more than 62 lakh beneficiaries till date with about one lakh thirty two thousand of them having been given the vaccine shots yesterday alone. On the other hand, the state has been reporting new cases beyond 10 thousand per day for the last 5 days that has pushed the active caseload further to 94760.</span><br />
