In Odisha, relief and rescue operation is going on full swing in the flood affected areas of the state. Chairing a high level meeting in Bhubaneshwar, the Chief Minister Mr Naveen Patnaik said, his government needs central assistance for the rehabilitation works of the flood affected people. The union minister of agriculture Harish Rawat visited the flood affected districts in Odisha today. Later he told newsmen that the only mega reservoir in Odisha Hirakud needs to use sophisticated technology to avoid flood. He said, sophisticated water bodies management plans are also essential for systematic dissemination of excess water from reservoirs. Mr. Rawat said, he would recommend to the union water resource authority to ensure that water reservoirs are backed with sophisticated technology for water management .
