Ruling against the publication or telecast of advertisements by both the state and central governments, the Odisha State Election Commission said such things violate model code of conduct enforced for the upcoming panchayat elections to be held in February. <br/><br/>State Election Commissioner RN Senapati has directed the district collectors to remove the posters and hoardings displayed at various locations promoting the government schemes. The Commission also barred Atal Jyoti Yojana and also directed the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to discontinue immediately advertisement and promotions of the Ujjwala scheme in the State. Besides, to monitor any possible violation of the model code of conduct, the Commission has also released two email ids,www.sec.odisha@gov.in and www.stateelectioncommission.odisha@gmail.com.
