Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has denied forceful acquisition of land at the Posco project site. He told media persons in Bhubaneswar that the process is going on smoothly and in a peaceful manner.The BJP has asked the Odisha Government to stop land acquisition for the proposed Posco steel project near Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district till passing of the Land Acquisition Bill in the Parliament.Senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh, said his party was against forceful acquisition of land for any industry. He said the Odisha Government should allow the industrialists intending to set up projects to directly negotiate with the local farmers and acquire lands. Meanwhile, tension prevails in Gobindpur of Posco project area over land acquisition. The state government has deployed 20 platoons of security in the area.
