In the 12th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Arunachal registered thumping wins over their respective opponents on the opening day at Panaji yesterday.

In the tournament opener, Odisha registered a comprehensive 14-0 win over Kerala in Pool E.
In the second Pool E match,  Andhra Pradesh beat Mizoram 13-0.
In Pool G matches, Bihar outplayed Telangana Hockey 18-0, while Arunachal defeated Hockey Jammu and Kashmir 6-2.
A total of 29 teams are participating in the tournament. The participating teams are divided into eight pools. Pool matches are being played on the initial eight days and these will be followed by Quarter-Finals on May 12 and  the Semi-Finals on May 14. The final match is  scheduled to be played on  May 15.
