In Odisha state assembly jointly today appealed to the Maoists to release the two abducted persons, a BJD MLA and an Italian national.
The proposal was moved by the chief minister Naveen Patnaik and was supported by all the members in the state assembly cutting across party lines. Earlier the Chief minister had appealed to Maoists to extend their deadline for release of BJD MLA Jhinna Hikaka.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik also responded to the audio demands sent by the Odisha-Andhra division of Maoists and to a letter from the abducted MLA to invite Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh's frontline leader Nachika Linga for face to face discussion on their demands.
Meanwhile the talks between the government and the representatives of Maoists for releasing the second Italian national have resumed.
