England won the toss and elected to bat against Australia in the opening match of the ODI cricket tri-series. The match is being played in Sydney.Reigning World Cup title holders, India, will begin their campaign against Australia in Melbourne on Sunday. Australia will be without their inspirational skipper Michael Clarke in the tri-series as he is still recovering from a hamstring surgery. The tri-series is seen as a final warm-up for all the three teams ahead of the World Cup, to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand in less than a month's time.
