PSLV-C14, carrying India's Oceansat-2 and six nano satellites blasted off successfully from the Satish Dhawan space centre at Sriharikota just a few minutes ago. <br/>AIR correspondent covering the launch reports that it was an awesome sight to see the 44.4 meter tall four stage 230 ton core alone PSLV zoom into the skies with a deafening sound that shook the earth, leaving behind a trail of yellow flames. Vice President Hamid Ansari joined a galaxy of Scientists, led by ISRO Chief G Madhavan Nair to watch the course of the flight from the mission control room.<br/>Oceansat 2 will be placed in polar synchronous orbit first, followed by the four Cubesats. The two Rubinsats will remain permanently attached to the rockets fourth stage. Oceansat 2 will help in identifying fishing zones, predict the onset of Monsoons and monitor coastal water pollution. <br/>The remote sensing satellite will also probe the important role played by the oceans in shaping the earth’s climate. The six micro satellites built by universities in Europe will test innovative space craft technologies.<br/>
