Congress today said that the decision to allow 4.5 per cent reservation for minorities in the OBC Quota, will be implemented after the completion of Assembly elections in the five poll bound states.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, party spokesman Rashid Alvi said, the Election Commission's order to put on hold the decision will be applicable only till the end of the polls.

Mr Alvi further stated that the government had taken the decision before the model code of conduct came in force.
