Obama vows no rush to send troops overseas

US President Barack Obama has said that he will never take a decision in rush on whether to send troops overseas until absolutely necessary. He was addressing the servicemen and women at the Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida. Obama was responding to the criticism coming from the opposition Republican leaders that he is taking too much time in taking a decision on Afghanistan. In a statement issued on the occasion of 15th anniversary of the peace treaty inked between Israel and Jordan, Obama said that the treaty is a source of inspiration to bring lasting peace in the region, which he is endeavouring to do. Signed in 1994 in the presence of the then US President, Bill Clinton, the Israel-Jordan Peace treaty normalised relations between the two countries and resolved territorial disputes between them. The treaty also made Jordan only the second country after Egypt to normalise relations with Israel.
