The United States President Barack Obama has promised federal aid to east coast areas struck by Hurricane Irene, during a tour of the badly-hit state of New Jersey. Mr Obama said the government will meet its federal obligations by doing everything necessary to help communities rebuild.Hurricane Irene caused an estimated 10 billion Dollars worth of damage. It killed more than 40 people from North Carolina to Maine and deprived millions of people of electricity.
