US President Barack Obama has said he is looking forward to working with Republican leaders on a range of issues post mid-term Congressional polls. After completing a 10-day Asia tour, Obama stated this to reporters on board Air Force One on his way home. The mid term polls led to the opposition party securing majority in the House of Representatives and emerging stronger in the Senate.Obama said there would be disagreements when he will meet Democrats and Republicans, but compromise is needed to set things for the lame duck Congressional session. He said both the parties should be able to get through the lame duck at least to make sure that taxes don't go up for middle-class families starting next year and some of the key business provisions that can assure economic growth get done. Obama said later next year they can go for serious philosophical debates.Responding to questions related to tax cuts, the President said he believes it was a mistake to borrow 700 billion dollars to make tax cuts permanent for millionaires. He said US can’t afford it.
