Obama- Karzai meeting may be cancelled

The United States has indicated that a meeting between President Obama and Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai on May 12 may be cancelled if he continues with his anti-foreign rhetoric. White House spokesman said yesterday, Washington will evaluate Mr. Karzai's further remarks to determine if it would be constructive to have such a meeting at this time.<br/><br/>Afghan law makers said on Monday that President Karzai used a close meeting last week to lash out at western critics of his government. The Afghan leader reportedly said that the Taliban movement will become a legitimate resistance movement if outside meddling in Afghan affairs continues and that he might join the group if outside pressure does not stop.
