US President Barack Obama arrived in his Air Force One aircraft in Mumbai a short while ago on the first leg of his 3-day India visit. President Obama and the First Lady Michelle were received at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport by Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Chavan, State Protocol Minister Mr. Suresh Shetty and Union Minister Mr. Salman Khurshid. The President and First Lady Michelle then boarded a chopper from the airport to INS Shikra, a naval air station and helicopter base in South Mumbai. The President will proceed in his Cadillac Limousine for the Taj Hotel at the Gate Way of India, where he will be staying during his Mumbai visit. At Taj hotel, President Obama will pay his respects to the victims and sign the guest book at the 26/11 memorial in the hotel lobby. He will then give his opening remarks to commemorate 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Later in the afternoon, the US President, who is the follower of Gandhian philosophy, will visit the Gandhi Museum at Mani Bhawan to honour the memory of the father of the nation. In the evening he will attend a business summit organised by the US-India Business Council, participate in a roundtable with entrepreneurs and US CEOs and deliver a speech at Hotel Trident, another target of 26/11 attack. A multi-tier security has been put in place to ensure a safe trip for the American President.
