US President Obama will be arriving in Delhi this afternoon after completing his engagements in Mumbai. In a rare and special gesture, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will receive President Obama and the first Lady Michelle Obama at the Air Force Station, Palam. The first stop of the US President, soon after arrival will be the world heritage site, Humayun Tomb. President Obama will interact with children of conservation workers who are being taught in makeshift schools run at the Archeological survey of India site. Later in the evening, President Obama and the first lady will be guests, at a private dinner being hosted by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at his residence. Select celebrities have been invited for the dinner. President Obama will have a tight schedule tomorrow, after his ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rastrapathi Bhavan. After paying tributes at Raj Ghat, the samadhi of Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, The US President will head for talks with Dr Manmohan Singh at Hyderabad House. The two leaders will also address a joint press conference after the meeting. AIR correspondent says that by promising to ease controls on hi tech exports and furthering co-operation in counter terrorism, Obama has set the tone of his talks with Dr Manmohan Singh. Vice President Hamid Ansari, the leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, and the Chairperson of UPA Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, will call on the US President tomorrow afternoon. Later in the evening, Obama will address a Joint sitting of the Members of Parliament in the historic Central Hall. This is the second time, that a US President will be addressing a Joint sitting of Parliament, after Bill Clinton in 2000. The President Mrs. Pratiba Devi Singh Patil will host a banquet in honour of visiting President. Obama will leave for Indonesia on Tuesday morning, on the second leg of his Asian tour.
