Obama Administration to ratify a new nuclear arms treaty with Russia

With only weeks remaining in the life of Democrat-dominated Congress, there is growing desperation from the Obama Administration to ratify a new nuclear arms treaty with Russia. The START agreement aims to reduce the two countries' nuclear arsenals and replace it with a treaty with expired in December last year.On Tuesday, a key Republican Senator said, the vote should be postponed until next year. But, President Obama said today, he wanted the Senate to vote on the treaty during the final days of current Congress, known as the lame duck session, insisting that START was vital for a US. He said, it was a national security imperative which should not be delayed.
