Mr. O.P. Kohli will take oath as the new Governor of Gujarat, this evening.

Quoting Raj Bhavan sources, our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that the swearing in ceremony will be held at the town hall in Gandhinagar at 6 pm today.

The Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, Bhaskar Bhattacharya will administer the oath to Mr. Kohli.

Our Correspondent adds that 79 year old Mr. Kohli ,who is a former leader of the Delhi BJP, was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1994 to 2000.

He was President of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student wing of the BJP. He had served as a Professor at Deenbandhu College of Delhi and also remained President of the Delhi University Teachers Association.
