NZ score 252/5 against India in their second innings

In the Wellington Cricket Test, New Zealand were 252 for 5 in the second innings against India at stumps on the third day on Sunday. When stumps were drawn, Brendon McCullum on 114 and Bradley-John Watling on 52 were at the crease, and the hosts had a lead of 6 runs in the second innings. India had made 438 in the first innings in reply to hosts 192 all out.Desperate to save this second and final Test, the Kiwis resumed the third day today at the overnight score of 24 for 1, with Hamish Rutherford and Kane Williamson at the crease. But it was paceman Zaheer Khan, who picked from where he left yesterday, sending both the overnight batsmen back to the hut early. Soon, Mohammed Shami and Ravinder Jadeja also joined the party and New Zealand were 94 for 5 in no time. But it was Skipper Brendon McCullum and Watling, who rose on the occasion, and stemmed India's dominance at a moment when it seemed India would go for the kill and level the 2-match series within four days. Both batsmen played sensibly, with McCullum scoring a well-deserved and much needed ton and Watling ably supporting the captain. At the close of play, the Kiwis were 252 for 5, having a lead of 6 runs in the second innings. India would have to break this partnership early tomorrow, because if the duo survives the first couple of hours, this final Test is going all the way down to the wire.
