Resuming the second day at their overnight 329 for three, the hosts were all out just before Tea. Harbhajan Singh smashed an attacking career-best 69, his eighth half-century in Test Cricket. In their reply, the Kiwis lost a couple of early wickets and were 69 for two at close of play. Brendon McCullum on 38 and Ross Taylor on 18 were at the crease at stumps.
