The number of incidents of riots in the country have shown declining trend in the country during the year 2015 to 2017. Over 65 thousand riot incidents were reported in the year 2015 while it was over 61 thousands in 2016 and around 59 thousands in the year 2017.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;"><br />''In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Home Affairs, G. Kishan Reddy said in the year 2017, maximum riot incidents of 11,698 were reported in Bihar followed by 8,990 in Uttar Pradesh and 7,743 in Maharashtra. The Minister was quoting National Crime Record Bureau data. He further said, that in Punjab only one incident of riot happened between 2015 to 2017.</span><br />
