In Tamil Nadu, the number of people with COVID-19 infection has gone up to 1075 with 106 new cases confirmed today. The state Health Secretary Dr Beela Rajesh told reporters in Chennai this evening, 14 of the new cases are those with travel history to other places and 90 others are the close contacts of the primary cases. <br />''<br />''Fifty people have been discharged so far with 6 patients getting discharged today. One person from Chennai died today, taking the toll to eleven.<br />''<br />''AIR Correspondent reports, the state administration has said on an average two thousand samples are being tested every day for COVID-19 disease. The state government has decided to reimburse the cost of testing the samples in private laboratories as well. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the Chennai Corporation has said volunteers cannot distribute cooked food directly to the beneficiaries, saying it would possibly lead to the spread of the disease. Instead, the civic body has said relief materials as dry rations may be handed over to the collection centres established by it, which can be distributed by the Corporation safely. </span><br />
