The recruitment of local terrorists has also come down significantly and only 86 local terrorists are active. Pandey said that local terrorist recruitment has considerably come down and this year only 128 locals joined militancy compared to 180 last year. Out of 128 local terrorists who joined militancy this year, 73 were killed, 17 were arrested and only 39 are active. The Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Dilbagh Singh has said that fighting terrorism and securing peace and tranquility in J&K is a continuous process, adding anti-terror operations would continue with more intensity to consolidate lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.</span><br />
