Number of active cases in Meghalaya drop below 5000 after several weeks

<span style="color: #222222;">The number of active cases in Meghalaya came below 5000 after several weeks as the State continues to see a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meghalaya today registered 379 new COVID-19 cases, which pushed the tally of active cases to 4924, a statement from the Health Department said. Meanwhile, the state also recorded 773 new recoveries in the last 24 hours. With this, the total recovered cases reached 33933.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Nine more people succumbed to COVID-19 complications; six from East Khasi Hills district, two from West Khasi Hills district and one from West Jaintia Hills district in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection to 678 so far.</span><br />''  <br />
