NSA level talks between India and Pakistan scheduled to be held in New Delhi tomorrow

The National Security Advisor, NSA, level talks between India and Pakistan are scheduled to be held in New Delhi tomorrow. However, India has said that the imposition of new conditions by Pakistan and distortion of the agreed agenda cannot be the basis for going forward with the talks. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said that Islamabad's insistence on meeting Hurriyat leaders as a precondition is a complete departure from the Ufa understanding between the two countries. He said, the Ufa understanding on the talks – read out jointly by the two Foreign Secretaries – was very clear that the NSAs were to meet to discuss all issues connected to terrorism. The spokesperson said, India remains committed to discussing issues with Pakistan peacefully and bilaterally.<br/>Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India is firm on its stand that whatever talks and dialogue are held with Pakistan, should only be on terrorism. Speaking at an event in Lucknow Friday, he said that talks and terrorism can never go together.
