Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitender Singh has said that Non-Resident Indian scientists are willing to come back to serve the
mother land as they believe that the atmosphere is conducive.
He assured that the government will proportionally compensate them.
Replying to supplementaries during question hour in the Lok Sabha
today, the Minister said India has made a head-way in the patenting of
software. He said 182 patents have been done in the last five years.
He said there has been a 50 per cent increase in research publications on patenting. To a specific question, the Minister said the government has recently sent 20 young scientists abroad under the programme 'Inspire' for training in various fields.
The Minister said there is a proposal to set up an Indo-French Scientific Council to encourage young scientists from both the countries.
