The Allahabad High Court today directed the Central Bureau of Investigation CBI to file a counter-affidavit on the arrest of senior IAS officer Pradeep Shukla in connection with the NRHM scam. The Jailed officer has challenged the case filed against him by the investigating agency.A Division Bench of the court comprising Justice Ravindra Singh and Justice Anurag Kumar has directed the probe agency to file its counter-affidavit within 10 days. Fixing July 13 as next date for hearing the court has also restrained the investigating agency from submitting any report before the trial court in the matters relating to Shukla till the next date of hearing. AIR correspondent reports that then Principal Secretary for Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Shukla was arrested on May 10 in connection with the multi-crore scam and has been in jail since then. He was named in three FIRs lodged by the CBI which eventually led to his arrest.
