The CBI has denied having questioned Mahendra Sharma who was found murdered at his home in Lakhimpur Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh.
Sharma is the fifth victim in the last one year after the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam surfaced in Uttar Pradesh.
Talking to AIR, CBI spokesperson Dharini Mishra said CBI has neither questioned nor summoned this person.
She said CBI is in close touch with local police regarding safety concerns of potential witnesses.
