NREGA helped Haryana in providing growth, the right to work and dignity of labour in rural areas. Stating this at Chandigarh today, an official spokesman said that since its launch in February, 2006, as many as 148.14 lakh mandays has been generated under NREGA, the flagship programme of the UPA government.<br/><br/>He said that under this scheme durable assets like soil and water conservation, afforestation, desilting of ponds, development of lands and link roads had been created. He said that since its inception, 254.06 crore rupees have been spent under the scheme and 4.17 lakh family job cards have been issued to registered households all over the state and out of it 3.65 lakh persons got employment.<br/>
