NPSP reports no polio cases for over 200 days

No polio case has been reported in the country for over 200 days. National Polio Surveillance Project revealed this in its report. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, NPSP Manager Dr. Hamid Jafri said that the only case reported in the country this year was on the 13th of January.

The Global Polio Eradication Initiative has said that Pakistan is still reeling under a polio outbreak due to rapid transmission of the polio virus.

Following the report, New Delhi has intensified the surveillance at the Indo-Pak border and over 115 children aged below five years have been vaccinated to prevent the import of virus.
