Now railway passengers can cancel their confirmed train tickets on phone. The passenger has to dial 139 giving details of the confirmed ticket for canceling it and the sender will get a one-time password (OTP). Passenger can claim refund from Passenger Reservation System counter upon revealing the OTP. Besides 139, one can also cancel confirmed tickets using IRCTC website. <br/><br/>Launching both the services in New Delhi today, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said this is an attempt to provide relief to passengers for cancellation of tickets. He said both the initiatives were promised in the this year's Railway Budget. According to the new refund rules, railways have doubled the cancellation charges with the aim of helping genuine passengers get confirmed tickets.
