Now, bird flu detected in Bhubaneswar

The avian influenza Bird Flu has been detected in Odisha's capital Bhubaneswar. The Bhopal-based High Security Animal Diseases Laboratory has confirmed bird flu (H5N1) among the poultry population of Central Poultry Development Organisation (CPDO) at Bhubaneswar.The Odisha Government has swung into action and imposed restriction on movement of poultry within 3-km radius of the CPDO. AS many as 10 rapid response teams have been constituted for surveillance and direction of the Centre is being awaited for culling of 28,851 poultry population in CPDO.Bhubaneswar is the fourth place in Odisha after Keranga in Khordha, Betanati in Mayurbhanj and Angul where bird flu has been detected.
