Novak Djokovic crushes John Isner in ATP Finals opener

In Tennis, world number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia defeated big-serving American John Robert Isner 6-4, 6-3 in London on Tuesday to launch his bid for a record-equalling sixth ATP Finals title in style.

Later this evening, Kevin Anderson of South Africa will take on Kei Nishikori of Japan in men's singles.

Djokovic is a red-hot favourite to draw level on six titles at the season finale with Roger Federer, who faces an uphill task to reach the semi-finals after his loss in his first round-robin match.

The ATP Finals is the second highest tier of annual men's tennis tournament after the four Grand Slam tournaments.

A week-long event, the tournament is held annually each November at the O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.
