The filing of nomination papers for the fourth phase of Bihar Assembly election and by-election to Banka parliamentary constituency opened today with the issue of notification.AIR Patna correspondent reports that 42 assembly constituencies spread across eight districts of the state will go to the polls in this phase on 1st November. The districts are Patna,Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Khagaria, Lakhisarai, Jamui Munger and Banka.The by-election of Banka parliamentary constituency was necessitated following the death of sitting member Digvijay Singh, Independent on the 24th June this year.The last day for filing of nomination papers for the fourth phase is the 14th of this month and scrutiny will be done the next day and candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till 18th October.674 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the second phase of assembly polls. Scrutiny of nomination papers for this phase of election is being taken up today. Candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till Saturday.Meanwhile the BJP has today released the third list of three candidates. With this the party has so far cleared the names of 95 candidates. The BJP is contesting on 102 seats after making seat sharing arrangements with Janata Dal ( United).
