Notification for 99 Lok Sabha seats spread over 19 states and Union Territories including 7 in Delhi to be issued today

The notification for 99 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over 19 states and Union Territories, including all the seven seats in Delhi will be issued today. These constituencies will go to the polls on the 9th and 10th of next month.

The states include Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and the Union territories of Chandigarh, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Both the Congress and the BJP, the main contenders have so far not announced the names of their party candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.

With the issuance of notification, filing of nominations by the candidates will begin and they can file their papers till the 22nd of this month. The scrutiny of nominations will take place on the 24th and candidates can withdraw their names till the 26th of this month.

The polling in Delhi will be held on the 10th of April and counting will take place on 16th May. Out of seven constituencies, six are general seats and one, a reserved seat.
